Amelia. The UK government started some absurd and sinister advice that normal people’s views were extremist and terroristic, and might have to be reported to Prevent. Prevent is an organisation that is supposed to prevent terrorism but instead they prevent free speech. They used this Amelia character.

People reposted it, changing Amelia to a figure of freedom and national pride, and overwhelmed the UK government who took their effort down. It’s gone global, with more countries doing it. The whole point / irony is that it is a stereotypically politically left looking figure with purple hair who is doing it.

The black serpent matches what you see in the stone carving, even if traditional sources describe it as green. This is Bishop Gallagher’s arms, directly from the Irish Gallagher family design (lion triumphing over serpent = courage/wisdom over evil), with bishop-specific additions.
